Know How to Cook for Weight Loss
Losing weight has to do not only with exercising; it also has to do with eating right. This means that if you want to successfully lose weight, you should stay away from high-carb, high-fat foods and instead eat home-cooked food. While this may sound somewhat easy, this type of cooking can be a big task. Keeping the challenge in mind, here is some help for you.

To begin with, you need to remember that the food that you pick up to cook should be low in carbohydrate and fats. These two are primarily responsible for accumulation of fat inside your body. Hence, avoid them. Instead, focus on food rich in protein, fiber, minerals, and vitamins. Go for green leafy vegetables, lentils, pulses, lean meat, sea-food and other similar food groups that are low in fat and carbohydrate content.

The next thing to take care of is the way you cook these foods. To begin with, avoid frying and sautéing them. This will only add complex fats to the food being cooked. Instead, to keep the health quotient of these foods high, do any one of the following-

Boiling - This is the most fundamental way of cooking consuming food which is regularly ignored. It is even better than roasting. Boiling food will rid it of all harmful chemical ingredients. However, to prevent loss of nutrients, do not over boil your food. Also, it is better that you do not remove their skin before boiling.

Baking - Baking is another healthy way of cooking food. It can cook almost anything for you, be that fish, poultry or vegetables. However, you need to take care that you cover the dish with anything that would help to retain moisture.

Broiling - If coking fish or poultry is on your mind, you can cook them by broiling them. However, do not give in to the temptation of adding oil, butter or wine to prepare the sauce. Instead, use fruit juice or plain water.

Microwave - Cooking in a microwave oven is another ideal way of cooking for weight loss. A microwave steamer can be used to cook vegetables. They can be conveniently kept inside a sort of a nest kept inside a container of water. The microwaves emitted would boil the water which, in turn, would cook the food. You can also do it the conventional way, boiling directly over a gas stove.

Grilling - Grilling allows you to cook food through roasting. The best part about this way of cooking food is that there is no loss of nutrients as they all get locked inside. However, roasting/grilling cannot kill the bacteria or germs inside food, which in turn can have a damaging impact on one’s health.
