Are Weight Loss Pills Effective?
The thought of using a pill to lose weight will tempt just about anyone. For some people, weight loss pills seem to be a good option for losing weight easily. This may not really be true. People opt for weight loss pills leaving all other options behind. Are these weight loss pills the right way to slim down?  The answer to this question may differ from one person to another. The opinions are divided.

Some people think weight loss pills have helped them to lose weight. However, for majority of people, these pills are of no use. These pills are not a magic mantra for loosing weight and they may have a number of side effects.

These pills are available in various brands.  There is an increasing demand for these pills, because  people are becoming more and more conscious about their looks. Everyone wants to look beautiful and now being slim defines beauty. People are ready to do anything to become slim. They are interested in the results and not bothered about possible adverse effects of these medicines.

There are two types of weight loss pills. These are prescription pills and over the counter (OTC) pills.

Pills that are available by a prescription are approved by the FDA. These pills are prescribed by specialists. There are documented side effects of these medicines.  The specialist has to consider the possible side effects before prescribing such pills. Some of the main brands are Meridia, Bontril, Xenical, Adipex, Didrex, Phentermine and Tenuate.

Then there are over the counter pills. These are widely used pills because any over the counter product is easy to use and you do not need to visit a doctor before using it. People taking any of such products are not aware that they are falling in a death trap. The number of ingredients used in them is so high that they end up harming you. Some of the side effects are tremors, racing heartbeat, high blood pressure that could lead to heart failure, diarrhea and nervousness. In extreme case, it could lead to death of the person also.

You are intelligent enough and now you must decide that is it the proper way to lose weight or not. Other options are not so risky. You can increase the vegetable and fruit content in your diet, besides cutting down on carbohydrates.
