How Does the Atkins Diet Work
To help you manage your body weight, there are certain dieting plans. The focus of these diet plans is to maintain your body mass index. Of all the weight management programs, Atkins diet is the most efficient and the one that is most commonly used to lose weight.

An Atkins diet sheet has certain foodstuffs that you are totally prohibited to eat while there are others that are necessary for you to take. Foods that are allowed are all poultry products, seafood, meat, egg, nuts, few vegetables, and cheese, to name a few. The foods that one is restricted to eat are fruits, pasta, breads, many vegetables, cereals and dairy products.

The diet should be low on carbohydrates and proteins and high on fats. The reason behind this is that if your intake of food products is low on carbohydrates then there will be no production of extra fats in your body, therefore all the previously stored fats cells in the body will burn to produce energy. Moreover, it is easy to burn fat and produce energy than burn carbohydrates. Thus, this process involves a proper check on your calorie control and calories count.

There is a few downsides to this treatment. The diet plan is low on various vitamins and minerals that are very essential for a healthy body. Moreover, this dietary plan involves more consumption of saturated fat in the body, thus increasing the total cholesterol levels in the body.

This condition is very dangerous as it may lead to cardiovascular diseases. A person who is following an Atkins diet sheet has a very low roughage intake.  In spite of the disadvantages, the Atkins Diet helps in losing weight if followed properly.
