Diets that are low in carbs are useful in minimizing muscle glycogen-the main substance for feeling of sluggishness when trying to be active.  Another low down of such diets is that brain needs carbs as an energy source. You would not be able to be 100% mentally fit if you are on a diet that is low on carbs.

In addition, the notion that fitness and nutrition gurus have about carbs being stored as fat is wrong. Any sort of excess energy whether in the form of French fries or salad can be stored as fat.

What is the meaning of all of this? I suppose, carbs can be very useful in small amounts. If you are following an exercise program, carbs are going to be stored as muscles and not as fat.

So I have some good news to all those people including me who thought that carbs are only stored as fat. I am completely caught unnerved when I heard the good news. The good news is that you can satisfy your craving for that big bowl of spaghetti and meatballs. 

You have to keep a couple of things in mind to apply diets low on carbs to your eating and fitness program:

Low Carb Diet Rule 1: You should have the right amount and the right type of carbs. You should always focus on having carbs that are high in fiber such as vegetables, beans, fruits, and whole grains.

Low Carb Diet Rule 2: You have to vary the types of carbs according to needs. For example- eat less carbs on days when you know you will no exercise.

Low Carb Diet Rule 3: Your feeling for carb might be the highest after your hard workout and that is the best time to indulge in an ice cream.
